The cornerstone of optimal pet health is preventative medicine and wellness exams. At Tails a Waggin Animal Hospital, we recommend that all pets receive a complete physical examination at least once a year; some pets should receive more frequent exams. Wellness exams play a critical role in the early detection of any future health issues and are critical for disease prevention. Our annual comprehensive preventative medicine exam includes:

  • Thorough “nose-to-tail” physical examination.
  • An examination of your pet’s dental health.
  • Detection of early signs of illnesses or potential health issues before they develop.
  • Annual heartworm testing and prevention.
  • Recommendations for parasite prevention and control.
  • Vaccinations as necessary in accordance with your pet’s vaccination schedule.
  • An analysis of your pet’s nutrition, behaviors, and daily activity and exercise habits.
  • Recommendations for possible additional diagnostic testing.

Your pet’s wellness exams help us understand your expectations as pet owner and establish a long relationship with your pet. Through these wellness exams and other consultations with you, important details regarding your pet’s health are discussed with us. Dental care, immunizations, arthritis, nutrition, and lifestyle changes are important topics to discuss with our veterinarian. Our team of professionals are ready to help, and answer any questions you may have.
