Your veterinarian might recommend specialized diagnostic tests for your pet. Our medically advanced diagnostic equipment ensures that your pet receives state-of-the-art diagnostic care and enables us to gain a more complete picture of your pet’s overall health or of the specific medical problem he/she might be experiencing.

We utilize a wide range of diagnostic equipment to help aid us in the diagnosis of many medical conditions, such as:

Ultrasound

At Tails-A-Waggin, we employ a highly-skilled ultrasound team that uses state-of-the-art equipment ultrasonography equipment. We are pleased to offer this advanced medical technology to our clients.

An ultrasound machine uses sound waves to penetrate your pet’s internal physiology producing a 3-D digital image. Ultrasound is a painless, non-invasive and safe tool allowing visualization of internal tissues and organs not otherwise possible. Organs can actually be seen as they are functioning, a key non-surgical advantage. Ultrasound has become a critical diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine to detect disease within the body without the need for exploratory surgery and to monitor known conditions.

Digital X-ray

Radiology (x-rays) is an effective diagnostic tool that utilizes imaging in the form of x-rays to evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. Digital radiology (digital x-rays) uses sensors rather than traditional photographic film. There are many advantages to this new, advanced technology that both facilitate the accurate diagnosis of your pet’s potential medical issues and reduce the overall cost of this type of testing.

These advantages include:

  • Digital x-rays are faster than traditional x-rays because no processing is necessary.
  • Reduced exposure to radiation as compared to conventional radiography.
  • Immediate image previewing and availability.
  • Better image quality.
  • Reduced stress on your pet due to less time on the x-ray table.
  • Reduced overall costs due to the elimination of costly film processing steps and the ease of saving the images and sending them electronically.

Digital Dental X-rays

Similar to digital radiology, the most advanced veterinary diagnostic tools also include digital dental radiology. Because we can see only about half of your pet’s dental problems with our eyes, this type of imaging allows us to see the condition of your pet’s teeth both above and below the gum line. Digital technology displays images almost immediately, allowing us to identify dental issues and treat your pet faster, reducing the time your pet is under anesthesia.
